What Do We Mean by soulful?
Psychic Newsletter – Unlock the Power of Soulful Connections in Life
We know we are in the realm of soul when our feelings swell while gazing at an object of beauty, listening to a piece of music, contemplating a natural wonder, or witnessing something life-changing happen to someone we love, are all signals that we are in soul. We don’t know whether we’ll laugh or cry or shout or skip down the street. We feel gloriously, keenly, soulfully alive.
Soulful Connections: The Power of Living with Heart and Intuition
Dreams feature prominently in the realm of soulful. We may awaken from a dream knowing we have been touched by a sacred influence. We may be inspired by an inexplicable urge to make a change. Any change. Words like yearn, inspire, and sacred resonate with this feeling. The feeling is never gentle or comforting! It can erupt like a volcano in our psyche; abrupt, alarming and devastating. Sometimes we know we’ve been altered forever in that soul-filled moment.
Is soul a part of nature? What is its purpose?
The soul can be (and often is!) at odds with our ego and practical life choices. Our soul imperative may demand that we make changes that are drastic, and foolish to loved ones in its embarrassing lack of good, common sense. It might not be nice, considerate or kind. Not at all logical, linear or practical. These changes may possibly even appear to be self-negating. Soulful is only practical by accident.
Many clients describe meeting someone whom they feel a soul connection to. There is a psychic link whereby they know what the other person is thinking and feeling and they know when they’re physically near or more distant from them than usual.
Their soul has glommed onto this person despite all reasonable explanations. There may be eons of difference between them: A separation of language, culture, education, beliefs, world views or class yet these differences shrink in importance in the face of this inexplicable, soulful connection.
Just as suddenly as it started, however, this connection will be severed. This soulful connect is fleeting, terrifying, all-encompassing – sweeping over and under us like a tidal wave leaving us trembling, mumbling and wanting. Then WHOOSH, it’s gone like a willow-the-wisp. A cool, damp fog surrounds us and fills the vacated space.
Soul teaches us about change. It latches onto things and people like glue but when it releases it’s just as absolute.
We learn, often the hard way, the devastating consequences of ignoring or even worse, minimizing the import of these tough soul demands. We suffer soul sickness and descend into the netherworlds of boredom, burn out, and mediocrity so accurately depicted in the painting, The Scream by Edvard Munch.
The Art of Soulful Living: Listening to Your Inner Wisdom
Our lives feel flat, stark and purposeless. We eventually want to shriek at its merciless and sterile predictability.
We might distractedly grasp at quick fixes like shopping, media, or substances that numb the suffering such as alcohol or drugs. Inevitably we will feel compelled to be attentive to our soul’s guidance. It is vaster, wiser, and more loving than any other part of you.
Trust the wisdom of your soulful yearnings. If you cannot bring yourself to follow its guidance, at least give it the time and attention it deserves. Whether you realize it or not, your soul is why you are here. Whatever it takes to honour those profound and sacred messages. As your soul communicates its guidance and you acknowledge its wisdom, your experience will have more depth and intuition. Laughter and crying will come more easily, living for today will be the norm and your relationships will be more authentic.
Awakening the Soul: Embracing Life’s Deepest Yearnings
I am honoured to do work that is the fulfillment of my soul’s intention. I listen not only to my own soul song but to that of others who come to me for help in turning up its volume and quietening down the others. My connections with others are never mundane or dictated by conformity or obligation. I value all the soulful interactions I have every day and wish you the same.
As we’re approaching 2025, intend to spend more time pondering your soul’s asks and demands. Set a word of intention for this coming year (last year mine was MYSTIC and what a mystic year it turned out to be!).
2025’s word for me will be: AWAKENING. Rather terrifying considering how my year’s word unfolds as the year progresses. You would think I would stop this ritual but oh no. Don’t be a chicken my Scorpio mind demands.
A reminder that I issue gift e-certificates. Many people like to gift loved ones with a reading to set the New Year off to an electric start. Many recipients of this gift have expressed how excited they are to be gifted with a reading with me. A perfect gift especially for someone who doesn’t like things or has already so much of them. You may have a loved one on the move, in transition or has just survived a painful breakup.
All the very best of the season to you filled with love, joy and nurturance.
Blessings Kathleen
